Community of Hope

This group is comprised of trained members of the congregation who journey with individuals and families in times of pain. They seek to represent Christ through their presence and listening.

Time: 

15 week training course, monthly meetings, and a ministry relationship

There is a cost associated with the different trainings.

Building and Grounds Team

Helps to maintain the property through the repair of broken furniture, the moving of tables, and general heavy work around the church.

Daughters of the King­­­­­­­

An international group of women in the Episcopal Church who seek to serve Christ’s Church through prayer, service and evangelism. This group meets regularly for prayer, training, and conversation

Dinner for Fun/ Lunches for Laughs 

This is a quarterly gathering of church members who meet for dinner or lunch. These groups are different each time as well as the hosts.

About 2 hours if participating and 4 hours if hosting

Card Ministry

Time: 

Approximately 1-2 hours a month

Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

The ECW fosters spiritual growth, relationships and development within the community of women in the church. Monthly dinner meetings encourage women to develop relationships.  All women of the church are automatically members.

Time: 

Meets fourth Monday evening of every month for about 2 hours

Cost of dinner or potluck; a voluntary collection is taken at each meeting

Flower Guild

Enhances the beauty of the worship service by providing altar flowers for every Sunday service and special services during the year.  To learn more, email Stacy at holyspirit@sentbythespirit.org

1-2 hours to arrange delivered flowers when you have duty once monthly

Any additional flowers you purchase to supplement what the church purchases

Hospitality/Fellowship

Make all feel welcome to our church community through hosting Coffee Hour after Sunday service and serving at various receptions, luncheons and other parish events as needed.

Time: 

Preparation time includes buying/making refreshments for consumption, setting up refreshments before the service and cleaning up after Coffee Hour.  Serve every 6 to 8 weeks with partners that share the expense of the food bought for refreshments.

Expense of food for refreshments; church provides the coffee, sugar, cream, juice and napkins.

Pray every day for congregation members and for those who have requested special prayers.

Men's Group

The Men's Group fosters Christian fellowship for the men of the congregation, assists the church in its Outreach efforts and supports appropriate activities such as Habitat for Humanity. Outreach projects include the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and various cook-outs throughout the year to raise funds for specific Outreach Projects.   All men of the church are automatically members.

Meets first Monday monthly at 6:30 PM at a member's home

Newcomer Ministry

New Member Ministry welcomes visitors into our church fellowship and encourages them to become new members through promoting church attendance, sharing at Coffee Hour, and integration into our church family through participation in Newcomers Classes. We offer quarterly welcome lunches followed by a three-week class series, staffing the “Welcome Spot,” quarterly meetings, and welcome cards. We use the welcome philosophy of Invite, Welcome, Connect.

Quarterly lunches, arriving to church early and staying a bit after, quarterly meetings

Newsletter Team

A collection of writers from within our congregation who seek to tell the stories of how we serve Christ in the world with each other. The Spirit Quarterly is a quarterly newsletter and the team members assemble several times a year, discuss the calendar, and determine which stories will be told in greater detail.

Spiritual Gifts:

Order of St. Luke

The International Order of St. Luke the Physician is devoted to bringing the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to all who need physical, spiritual or emotional healing.  By becoming a member of this Order, you will grow through scriptural training, biblical “laying-on of hands,” personal prayer, and an opportunity to join your faith with that of other believers.  Training is required.

Time: 

Approximately two hours per week in meetings, study and prayer

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayers are said for the recipients of shawls or lap blankets as they are crocheted or knitted by ministry members. The item is blessed by the priest, and a prayer card is included when presented. Prayer shawls are made for persons in hospitals, nursing homes, shut-ins, for an anniversary, a wedding, or a new mom.

Time it takes to crochet or knit one or more shawls

Reunion Groups 

These are a part of the Cursillo Movement (although you do not have to have gone to a Cursillo to participate) and serve as prayer groups to support men and women in their walk with Christ.

Saint Clare's Guild

This group of men and woman are working to needlepoint kneelers for around the altar platform. They welcome all different levels of skills to join them. They meet every Friday to needlepoint and on the second Saturday of the month. There are also a variety of fund raisers.

Weekly and Monthly meetings and the time to needlepoint

You are invited to make a financial contribution to the kneeler ministry.
