Serving  Outside Our Walls

The Outreach Team coordinates outreach opportunities in our community for the whole congregation to serve the Lord.

Project Hope

The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit partners with the San Antonio Food Bank to provide qualifying low-income seniors with a 50 to 60 pound box of food.  The church is the distribution site for the project in this area; food distribution is on the fourth Monday of each month.

The Project HOPE program provides senior citizens living on a fixed income with supplemental staple groceries on a monthly basis to help fight hunger and malnutrition for our elderly neighbors. Food is chosen to accommodate the special dietary needs of the senior population and includes produce, protein, whole grains and staples that will help the seniors live healthy and independent lives.

To learn more about Project HOPE or to see if you qualify, visit safoodbank.org

If you meet the qualifications and would like to sign up to pick up food, email Penny and Scott at projecthope@sentbythespirit.org. Due to federal regulations, it is important to sign up in advance to pick up a box of food.

Contact Penny and Scott at projecthope@sentbythespirit.org if you would like more information on how to apply or if you would like to volunteer to help pack food boxes or load cars.  You can also call the church at 210-314-6729 and leave a message in the Food Bank voicemailbox.
